Of Singing Songs to Maria Among Other Ways

I will sing with you
among the songs that you have been singing--
of despair and aging sorrows
of timid melancholia
and of the bliss of solitude--
these are melodies
that my ears are not familiar with;
but I can always learn,
I can always sing.

I will sing with you all through out;
at night, when the lark has given up
and at daybreak, when it loses its way--
i will sing it out for you.

and if by chance,
i miss some of it's lines,
with utmost certainty--
your music,
will lead me back
to you,
where it all began.
